EV's Youth Centre

 

EV's is chilled out and has tons of resources and things to do including a pool table, big screen TV with Wii, Xbox and PS3, as well as Wi-Fi internet and computers to browse the net. Workers can also help young people with heaps of info and support on all sorts of things, from stuff to do locally to getting a job, to getting back into school and help with family issues and well pretty much anything.

Located at 212 Mt Dandenong Rd, Croydon and originally built in 1909 as a Mechanic's Institute, the buidling now known affectionately as "EV's" has been at the centre of local communiy life for over 100 years. Now fitted out with the latest technology including a high powered PA system, the venue is used by thousands of young people each year as a meeting place, a source of information and education and as an entertainment venue.

EV's Youth Centre is a wheelchair accessible multi-purpose youth venue located in Melbourne's eastern suburb of Croydon, and is managed and operated by Maroondah City Council Youth Services (MYS). Well known for running all ages music events for young people in the local area, EV's also plays host Maroondah Youth Services' range of youth programs & events.  If accessing our programs is difficult for you, please talk to our staff about some of the options.

You can get involved with what's at EV's by joining MYS Volunteers, or our FReeZA Program, or just come down to check it out and say hi. Anyone who's 12-25 is welcome and you'll find it an amazingly friendly place where you can be yourself and always feel welcome.

Opening Hours:

EV's Hangout (a drop-in program for all young people 12-25) runs on Thursday's 3.00pm - 6.00pm during school terms.

The building is also used throughout the week and during school holidays for other programs.
