Maroondah Youth Consultation

In 2011, Maroondah Youth Services recruited a group of seven young people from the Maroondah Young Leaders Program to the Peer Engagement Program (PEP).

PEP participants and Maroondah Youth Services worked in partnership between May and November 2011 to design and deliver the largest youth consultation Maroondah City Council has ever undertaken.

Over 800 people took part in the consultation, including over 700 young people aged 12-25 who live, work, study or hang out in Maroondah.

We asked people about:

  • The most important issues for young people,
  • What is good about Maroondah for young people, and
  • Suggestions for how to improve things in Maroondah for young people

The results are outlined in the Maroondah Youth Consultation Report 2011 and a short film called 700 Voices, which can both be found in the 'Further Information' section below.

Thank you to everyone who supported the consultation, and especially to everyone to took part - your input was invaluable!
