Who can I talk to?
Young people often seek counselling when they are going through difficult times and in need of support. This is normal. Everybody experiences difficulties at one point or another and it’s important to talk to somebody about these problems. It could be to do with relationships, family conflicts, sadness, anger or a range of other issues.
Below is a list of free or low-cost services that can assist with confidential and unbiased advice on active ways to deal with life’s difficulties.

What: Psychological services and counselling for all ages, specific focus on adolescence and children. Several clinical and counselling psychologists practice at Mullum rd clinic with expertise in the areas of anxiety, stress related disorders, depression, behavioural disorders, school refusal, Asperger's and Autism, relationship difficulties, trauma, family breakdown, attachment issues, post-natal depression,and personality disorders.

In some relationships a person might become physically, sexually or emotionally abusive towards you. You do not have to put up with a violent or threatening situation. No one has the right to make you feel scared, or to hurt you. If you have experienced sexaul assault or abuse, it may help to talk to someone who understands what you are going through. Remember that sexual abuse, or any type of abuse, is never your fault. The services below are available for prompt and confidential advice and assistance. Likewise, if you have a problem with your anger, hurting people you care about or causing fear in your girlfriend/boyfriend, family or peers there are services available to help you with your situation.
What: Counselling, information, support and advocacy for young women and young men who have been sexually assaulted. 24 hour Crisis Care Unit for recent Sexual Assualts (up to 2 weeks). Can also provide support and information for parents and friends of a person who has been sexually assaulted.

What: Anonymous and confidential telephone service provided for men by men. It provides a central point of contact for men who are wanting to stop their violent or abusive behaviour towards their family members, but are not sure how or where to go for advice. Many women also call the Men's Referral Service seeking information and help for their male partner, husband, relative or friend.
